The Inter-American Center of Tax Administrations extends an invitation for the “CIAT Contest for the Recognizing Innovation in the Tax Administration”. The participation proposals shall be submitted by November 30, 2008.

The contest, to be held annually, is aimed at acknowledging the good innovative practices implemented by the CIAT-member and associate member countries, which contribute to the achievement and consolidation of the features required for a healthy and effective Tax Administration, such as integrity and transparency, efficiency and effectiveness.

This initiative disseminates practical aspects, processes and technologies that are already being applied by the Tax Administrations. Such tax practices shall be also put into practice by CIAT-member countries in their own performance improvement initiatives.

The Executive Council shall define the award-winning practice and the award ceremony shall be held next year at the CIAT General Assembly in Dominican Republic.
