CIAT renders posthumous tribute to a great friend and colleague
As a well deserved homage, the Specialized Library of the Inter-American Center of Tax Administrations now bears the name of Engineer Jorge Eduardo Corradine Garavito.
In a touching ceremony held on August 12 at the Specialized Library in the CIAT headquarters, a picture of Engineer Corradine was unveiled in the presence of his wife María Eugenia, his children, María Isabel, Leonor Eugenia and Juan Alberto; in addition to special guests.
In statements full of nostalgia and affection, the Executive Secretary, Dr. Claudino Pita, Mrs. Maria Eugenia; her children and friends, expressed their recollections of the father, the man, the professional and friend which each of them found in Jorge Eduardo Corradine, who fought a merciless battle against Amiotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) and passed away on February 26, 2005.
Engineer Corradine worked at CIAT for 20 years, where he held the positions of Director of Studies and Research and Deputy Executive Secretary from 1992 to 1997 when due to his illness he was unable to continue, although he left an indelible trace at CIAT. Through his resolution and innovative spirit, the institution achieved a position of excellence.
