The CIAT Executive Secretariat is organizing the XI CIAT Biennial Meeting of Correspondents to be held in Panama City on November 18-20, 2009 with the El Panama Hotel as venue.

The meeting endeavors to update Correspondents on relevant institutional issues, their role and responsibilities toward the organization and their respective tax administrations, as well as review the communications strategy between the Executive Secretariat and its network of Correspondents; establish personal contact between the Correspondents and Executive Secretariat officials to facilitate communications and performance of their respective functions and present the new products and services available to the member and associate member countries.

The outstanding work carried out by its Body of Correspondents is one of the success factors of CIAT. Through them, it is possible to maintain permanent liaison with the member and associate member countries for carrying out the variuos activities of the Center; among them, the timely provision of information or assistance which the Executive Secretariat and/or any of the member countries may require.

The main benefit to be achieved from this meeting, for the Executive Secretariat as well as the member and associate member countries will be the efficient and timely information and communications channel, to thus ensure better services.
