The DGI of Nicaragua optimizes its processes of service to the taxpayer with its support of CIAT, the Swiss Cooperation (SECO) and the State Agency of Tax Administration (AEAT)
On December 13, 2016, CIAT officials, the Head of the Spanish Mission before CIAT and a team of three experts from the AEAT visited the DGI of Nicaragua to evaluate the progress achieved during the years 2015 and 2016 In the framework of the project called “Integral Attention System and Taxpayer Assistance”, managed by CIAT, financed with SECO resources and implemented with technical support from the AEAT.
The DGI has been able to capitalize on the support provided, having managed to significantly reduce the time spent on assistance during the pilot test carried out in the Regional Administration of Sajonia (Managua), which has one of the highest activity levels.
Gradually, during 2017 and the first quarter of 2018, the ATENEO system (based on the AEAT of Spain to manage the taxpayer’s attention) will be implemented in all agencies of the country and to implement and adapt to Nicaragua a version of the INFORMA system, which is used by Spain to manage frequent taxpayer queries.
These systems will enable the DGI to provide adequate responses to taxpayers from different segments, reduce attention times and carry out friendly recovery procedures, all within an environment that facilitates mutual feedback between the taxpayer and the tax administration.
We take this opportunity to thank for the support of SECO and the AEAT of Spain, allowing this Project to be implemented, and the commitment demonstrated by the DGI of Nicaragua in all its stages.
