Sponsored by the General Directorate of Public Finances – DGFIP – of France, the CIAT Technical Conference was inaugurated in Paris. The main theme is “Improvement of the effectiveness of the tax administrations through new organizational models”. Participants include 34 delegations from member countries and associate member countries, 26 delegations from invited countries and observers and 13 delegations from international organizations and institutions related to CIAT.

During the next four days, the delegates from CIAT member countries and other countries and international organizations that have been invited to this event will share their tax experiences, especially in relation to the three fundamental aspects of the Conference:

• The merger of competencies in the TAs as strategy for improving the effectiveness and efficiency of public administration.
• Key aspects for the implementation of a merger of competencies in the TAs.
• Emerging aspects to be considered in the merger of competencies.

Undoubtedly this opportunity for exchanging ideas and experiences promoted by CIAT and the General Directorate of Public Finances of France will be very fruitful for the international tax community.
