Juan Carlos Benítez
Tax economist with a master’s degree in public policy from the University of Chicago. He is a consultant on tax issues for international organizations. He currently works as a Tax Economist in the Fiscal Management division of the Inter-American Development Bank. Previously, he was a fiscal economist at the Development Center of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development and a consultant at the Inter-American Center of Tax Administrations. His research and publications have focused on taxes on wages in Latin America and the Caribbean, taxes on personal net wealth, personal income taxes on individuals, taxes on financial transactions and he has coordinated several publications of Tax Revenue Statistics for Latin America and the Caribbean.
