CIAT and FCInet explore cooperation opportunities

On June 20, 2019 CIAT and FCInet officials met at the FCINet headquarters in The Hague – Netherlands to identify opportunities for cooperation and to get to know in detail their respective control tools, based on the collaboration of the States and the use of public information. Both institutions decided that the first step will be to disseminate their respective tools among the members of their networks.

FCInet is a decentralized computerized system developed by the governments. It allows the criminal investigation financial services of different jurisdictions to work jointly, although maintaining their local autonomy and allowing the analysis of data, without violating secrets, privacy or sovereignties. DIP is a CIAT tool designed to support tax compliance control. It provides information about public information sources of interest to tax administrations and its access thereto. This initiative was fulfilled thanks to the technical and financial support of the Secretariat of Federal Revenues of Brazil and GIZ of Germany, as well as the technical support of the CIAT member countries.
