Within the framework of the Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group, the “Fiscal Forum: Improving the Tax Capacity of Developing Countries” was held , last October 15, in Marrakech, Morocco.

The Forum, moderated by Vitor Gaspar, Director of the Fiscal Affairs Division – FAD, had as main presenter Katherine Baer, Deputy Director of the Division, who gave a keynote presentation on the topic and the recent publication “Building Tax Capacity in Developing Countries”, which can be consulted here.

The panel also included the participation of Younès Idrissi Kaitouni, Director General of the Tax Administration of Morocco[1]; Mirza Gelashvili, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia; Sameera Khan, Director of Country Programs of the African Tax Administration Tax Forum – ATAF[2]; and Raul Zambrano, CIAT Director of Technical Assistance and ICT.
