During the week of May 20-24, 2024, with the support of the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation and Development (AECID) and the Internal Audit Service (SAI) of the AEAT of Spain, two relevant working meetings were held in the effort to promote ethics and strengthen the capacities of Internal Control. With the participation of Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Guatemala, Spain, Dominican Republic, Uruguay, and the CIAT Executive Secretariat.

At the meeting of the CIAT Permanent Committee on Ethics, its composition and the agenda of topics to be developed in the coming years in our region were updated, and at the meeting of the CIAT Internal Control Manual Working Group, the members reviewed progresses in the design of this manual and held an exchange of experiences in the composition and practices of internal control in the tax administrations of the region.
