On October 15, 2024, the CIAT Technical Conference was inaugurated in the city of Lima, Peru, with the central theme “Avoidance and general anti-abuse rules: casuistry and tax justice“. This event, sponsored by the National Superintendency of Customs and Tax Administration (SUNAT) of Peru, brings together delegations from CIAT member countries, as well as representatives from international organizations and other invited countries, in a face-to-face format.

The opening ceremony was led by distinguished authorities, including Mr. Márcio F. Verdi, CIAT Executive Secretary; Dr. Adriana Gomes Rêgo, President of the CIAT Executive Council and Deputy Special Secretary of the Receita Federal of Brazil, together with other members of the Executive Council; Mr. Víctor Mejía Ninacóndor, National Superintendent of the Customs and Tax Administration of Peru; and Mr. Carlos Alberto González Mendoza, Vice Minister of Economy of Peru.
