The Executive Secretariat participates in the event “The New International Tax Framework” organized by the World Bank Group
On January 30 and 31, 2025, a workshop on the new international tax framework was held at the World Bank headquarters (Washington DC), with the participation of representatives from ministries of finance, tax administrations, academia, tax advisory firms and companies.
The purpose of this activity was to exchange experiences and ideas on how to promote a positive business climate, international tax reforms, aspects that make tax systems attractive to investors, corporate social responsibility practices, tax certainty and its prospects for the coming years, among other topics.
The CIAT Executive Secretariat presented its vision on the key elements for the proper functioning of cooperative compliance initiatives and recommendations for developing countries with very limited resources. It also presented the actions it is taking to ensure that tax administrations provide greater certainty to taxpayers.
This activity has allowed us to reach conclusions on how to make the tax system more attractive in the current context, both in developing and developed countries, while maintaining reasonable levels of tax collection.
The CIAT Executive Secretariat thanks the World Bank Group for its invitation and the opportunity to share our experience.
