Laboratory for Civic-Tax Education in Latin America

From May 26-30, 2025, to help strengthen tax responsibility and tax compliance in Latin America, an innovative laboratory was held, which seeks to foster favorable attitudes towards civic-tax education. The main objective of the laboratory was to design effective strategies to promote civic-tax education in several Latin American countries.

The aim is not only to increase awareness of tax compliance, but also to strengthen the skills of those responsible for civic-tax education. This is to be achieved through training in educational innovation, the design of campaigns and the creation of content adapted to the local contexts of each participating country.

The event was attended by representatives from countries such as Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Guatemala, El Salvador, Peru and Chile, among others. This diversity allowed for an enriching exchange of best practices and educational resources.

The Inter-American Center of Tax Administrations (CIAT) was represented by Mr. Alejandro Juárez, Director of Human Talent Development for Tax Administrations.

This initiative is expected to have a significant impact on the tax culture in Latin America, promoting a more responsible future committed to sustainable development.
