On the occasion of its 15th Anniversary, the Tax Administration Superintendence of Guatemala (SAT) organized last June 14 an academic event with the help of the German Cooperation (GIZ), in which participated Mr. Carlos Munoz, SAT Superintendent, the Executive Committee , the Board of the institution, as well as SAT officers, other international and national organizations and some government officials.

The purposes of the event were: i) To promote the main achievements of the SAT in its institutional life, ii) to strengthen cooperation relations with international organizations, the public sector and the private sector, and iii) to expand the staff vision of the SAT through their participation in workshops with invited international officers.

The Inaugural Conference was given by Mr. Marcio Ferreira Verdi, CIAT Executive Secretary, on the topic “The obligation of the citizen to pay taxes.” Mr. Verdi was accompanied in the event Mr. Raul Zambrano, Director of Technical Assistance and Information Technology of CIAT.
