SUNAT shares its experience with the SET of Paraguay in the framework of EUROsociAL II-CIAT collaboration program
The European Comission EUROsociAL II Program, through its operating partner CIAT, hosted a visit by an expert from the Superintendence of Customs and Revenue (SUNAT) of Peru to Asuncion, on 27 and 28 November 2014. The goal of the visit was an in-depth study of the incentive and compensation model linked to achieving institutional goals and objectives developed by the SUNAT, and establish guidelines to implement a similar system in the Undersecretary of State Taxation (SET) of Paraguay.
The first meeting day, the SUNAT expert made a comprehensive presentation of the model, from conception to execution, to the managerial level of the SET. During the second day, working groups were organized with different areas of the SET involved in the project and workshop meetings were held to address the operational aspects of the Model.
The exchange visit was a result of the requests presented by the beneficiary countries to the EUROsociAL II program in the framework of the Action “Compliance with Tax Obligations”, “Public Finance” area, coordinated by the FIIAPP, whose operating partners are the AEAT and IEF of Spain, and CIAT. In the future, CIAT, along with the EUROsociAL II program partners, will follow up the progress, demands and interests submitted by tax administrations benefitting from the program, in order to develop new activities supporting voluntary compliance.
