SRI of Ecuador receives specialized advice in the framework of the CIAT-GIZ Cooperation Agreement
From November 23 to 26, 2015 in Quito, Ecuador, CIAT coordinated a short-term technical assistance in the framework of the CIAT-GIZ Cooperation Agreement, for the Internal Revenue Service (SRI) of Ecuador, on the application and interpretation of Agreements to avoid double taxation. A seminar for SRI officials was presented by a Mexican expert on November 23; its purpose was to provide an overview of International Taxation in Ecuador, with general considerations regarding the application and interpretation of Double Taxation Conventions (DTCs) in Mexico, and the new trends in the field.
Next, from November 24 to 26, a technical workshop was held in which several case studies were discussed, with the aim of updating the knowledge about the application and interpretation of DTCs, in order to raise good practices and identify needs and improvements applicable in the development of future activities.
