CIAT, LATINDADD and the Secretariat of the Federal Revenue of Brazil (RFB) held the XII Regional Meeting with Tax Administrations on International Taxation in Brasilia

Luis Moreno (LATINDADD), Adriana Gomes Rego (RFB) and Gonzalo Arias (CIAT) opened the twelfth Regional Meeting with Tax Administrations on International Taxation held on November 16 and 17 in the city of Brasilia. Within the framework of this activity, the participants discussed the prospects and progress of regional and global initiatives on international taxation, progress in tax transparency, cooperation mechanisms that go beyond taxation, challenges, and opportunities in the area of control and collection, challenges in the area of tax compliance control of the extractive and fishing industries, and priorities of tax administrations on the issues discussed at this meeting. Likewise, the CIAT-LATINDADD-NORAD Guide on Trusts and Other Complex Structures, which will be published in the coming days, was presented.

This meeting was supported by the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (NORAD), the Tax Justice Network of Latin America and the Caribbean, SES Foundation, and Tax Justice Network (TJN). Participants included representatives from the tax administrations of Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Jamaica, Panama, Spain, Guatemala, Honduras, Panama, and Uruguay. Also participating were representatives of the National Tax Court of Argentina, IGF, UN-DESA, ECLAC, FTC, tax experts and co-sponsoring organizations.
