It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of our esteemed colleague, friend and former Chief, Dr. Claudino Pita, former Executive Secretary of CIAT, who recently passed away in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Claudino joined the Executive Secretariat of CIAT as Director of Tax Studies and Research and reached the position of Executive Secretary between 2005 and 2009 after an extensive professional career in Brazil and Argentina, and as an international consultant for CIAT and other international organizations.

We express our heartfelt condolences to his family wishing Peace to his soul.
