Senior Specialist of the Fiscal Management Division of the IDB in Colombia. His work focuses on macro-fiscal issues and tax policy. Previously Alejandro worked as a consultant in the research department of the World Bank, as IDB country economist for Uruguay, and IDB tax specialist for Mexico. In academia he has taught several economics courses at the University of Maryland, the ORT University of Uruguay,  and the Instituto Autonomo of México. He holds a PhD in economics from the University of Maryland, a master’s degree in economics from Universidad del CEMA (Argentina) and a bachelor’s degree in economics from the Universidad Nacional de Rosario (Argentina).
