Third Day on Gender Equity as Part of the XIV Regional Meeting on International Taxation in Bogotá, Colombia

On October 3, 2025, an additional event dedicated to gender equity was held following the XIV Regional Meeting with Tax Administrations on International Taxation in Bogotá, Colombia. The event was organized by the Latin American Network for Economic and Social Justice (Latindadd), the Colombian Tax and Customs Administration (DIAN), and the Inter-American Center of Tax Administrations (CIAT), with the collaboration of the Inclusive Societies Program – FIAP, the Latin American and Caribbean Tax Justice Network (RJF-LAC), and the Financial Transparency Coalition.
The focus of this day was on the importance of maintaining an equality-based approach within the tax system. The program combined roundtables and presentations, with Maureen Pérez from CIAT and Gabriel Elorriaga Pisarik from IEF moderating three sessions that addressed the following topics:
• Tax expenditure and gender.
• Taxation and human rights.
• Taxation and the environment.
• Internal gender equity initiatives.
• Ethics in tax administration.
• The new CIAT Study on Taxation and Gender.

Among the panelists were representatives from the tax administration of the Dominican Republic, tax experts, and representatives from LATINDADD, ITRC, RJFALC, and EURODAD.
