Mexico’s SAT receives recognition for its efficiency in tax certainty
The Executive Secretariat of CIAT congratulates Mexico, in particular the Tax Administration Service (SAT) and the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit, for being recognized by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in the framework of Tax Certainty Day 2025.
This recognition highlights Mexico’s efficiency in terms of tax certainty for large taxpayers, having obtained first place in the “Age of Inventory” category and second place as “Most Improved Jurisdiction.” Both awards reflect the country’s commitment to transparency, international cooperation, and the proper application of double taxation avoidance agreements.
The results demonstrate the effectiveness of mutual agreement procedures (MAP) and advance pricing agreements (APA), which have helped reduce backlogs, prevent tax disputes, and ensure legal certainty for multinational companies operating in the country.
This is a significant achievement that reaffirms Mexico’s leadership in implementing modern tax policies aimed at strengthening taxpayer confidence, promoting voluntary compliance, and consolidating fiscal competitiveness at the international level.
The CIAT welcomes this progress and recognizes the sustained efforts of the Mexican authorities to promote a transparent and predictable tax system that is aligned with the highest international standards of tax administration and cooperation.
