CIAT participated in the online workshop “AI and the Future of Tax Law: Rethinking Compliance, Governance, and Legal Design” organized by the University of Maastricht
From the 17–18 of December 2025, the Tax Policy Center at the University of Maastricht organized an online conference that brought together academics and practitioners to discuss the growing role of artificial intelligence in tax compliance, governance, and law-making. CIAT, represented by its International Taxation Manager, shared experiences regarding the role of AI in tax administrations through a presentation that highlighted some ongoing CIAT initiatives that are setting the stage for the adoption of new technologies. For example, the Digital Economy Compliance tool (DEC), the electronic invoicing anomaly detector and relevant member country experiencies.
CIAT thanks the University of Maastricht for the opportunity to partake in this excellent seminar.
