CIAT Participates in the 39th CREDAF Annual Conference in Guinea

From June 9 to 12, 2026, the Inter-American Center of Tax Administrations (CIAT) participated in the 39th Annual Conference of the Cercle de Réflexion et d’Échange des Dirigeants des Administrations Fiscales (CREDAF), held in Conakry, Republic of Guinea, under the theme “Risk Management for Domestic Revenue Mobilization in a Context of Crisis.”

The event was organized by CREDAF in collaboration with the General Directorate of Taxes of Guinea (DGI) and brought together representatives of tax administrations from French-speaking countries, as well as international organizations and development partners. The objective was to discuss strategies aimed at strengthening institutional resilience and ensuring the sustainable mobilization of public revenues.

The conference featured plenary sessions and technical workshops focused on risk analysis and management, tax governance in times of crisis, the management of support functions, and the strengthening of institutional capacities to respond to increasingly complex environments.

During the plenary session dedicated to experiences from other regions, CIAT presented initiatives and experiences developed by its member countries to strengthen the resilience of tax administrations and taxpayers in the face of crisis situations. The presentation highlighted the importance of risk management, digital transformation, business continuity, and international cooperation as key elements for ensuring the sustainable mobilization of public revenues in contexts of growing uncertainty.

CIAT’s participation took place within the framework of the cooperation agreement maintained with CREDAF since 2013, through which both organizations promote the exchange of experiences, the dissemination of publications, and the implementation of joint training and technical assistance activities for their member administrations.

CIAT expresses its appreciation to CREDAF, its Secretary General, Ms. Catherine Lemesle, and to the General Directorate of Taxes of Guinea, headed by Ms. Fatoumata Foula Diallo, for the excellent organization of this important international event. The conference reaffirmed the value of cooperation among tax administrations as a fundamental tool for strengthening domestic resource mobilization and contributing to the sustainable development of countries.
