From July 27 to 31, 2026, the Executive Secretary of the Inter-American Center of Tax Administrations (CIAT), Márcio F. Verdi, participated, along with David Borja, CIAT’s Manager of Technological Innovation, in the 27th General Assembly and Technical Conference of the Caribbean Organization of Tax Administrators (COTA), held in Georgetown, Guyana.

Under the theme “Future-Ready CARICOM Tax Administration – Smart, Data-Driven, and AI-Enabled for Sustainable Revenue,” the meeting brought together tax administrations and revenue management specialists from the countries of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) to exchange experiences on the use of technologies, data analytics, and artificial intelligence aimed at strengthening tax administrations, improving tax compliance, optimizing taxpayer services, and promoting more efficient and sustainable revenue mobilization.

Organized by the CARICOM Secretariat, in collaboration with the Guyana Revenue Authority, the conference provided a forum for dialogue, the exchange of experiences, and cooperation among tax administrations and international organizations.

Through its participation in this meeting, CIAT reaffirmed its commitment to international cooperation, knowledge sharing, and the promotion of initiatives that contribute to strengthening tax administrations in Latin America and the Caribbean.
