CIAT and OECD met to discuss cooperation actions in various fields of action

On June 17 and 18, 2019, CIAT and OECD representatives held meetings at the OECD headquarters in Paris, with the purpose of implementing cooperation actions within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding signed last May in Havana, on the occasion of the 53rd CIAT General Assembly.

At present, the numerous global actions promoted by the OECD with the support of the G20 generate the need to strengthen the level of coordination of actions of both organizations whose objectives are similar.

At the meetings, OECD and CIAT gave presentations on the way in which they approach their initiatives, having discussed cooperation possibilities in the area of technical assistance, transparency and exchange of information, the development and harmonization of databases, promotion of recommendations on tax policy and tax administration, among other relevant aspects for their member countries.

Some of the meetings were attended by partners from both organizations interested in the topics discussed, including the University of Maastricht and IGF Mining.
