The CIAT Executive Secretary, Mr. Márcio F. Verdi, and Director of Planning and Institutional Development, Mr. Socorro Velázquez, visited the offices of the German Office for Cooperation and Development (GIZ) on May 13, 2013, in Eschborn, Germany. During their visit they met with Messrs. Hans Wollny, Albert Engel, Roland van Frankenhorst, and other GIZ and ITC officials responsible for cooperative and collaborative efforts with CIAT in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Their discussions centered on recent GIZ, ITC and CIAT activities in CIAT member countries. There was also a presentation to GIZ officials from other departments who were interested in knowing the general state and challenges of tax administrations in the Americas.

The meeting further enhanced the bond and strong relationship our entities have enjoyed over the years.
