On August 14, Mr. José Luis Machinea, former Executive Secretary of ECLAC visited the CIAT Executive Secretariat headquarters.

Taking advantage of his visit to Panama, the CIAT Executive Secretary, Mr. Claudino Pita, invited Mr. Machinea to a meeting with the participation of the Director of Operations, Mr. Márcio Verdi.

The meeting was an opportunity for strengthening relationships with this distinguished Economist who is currently in charge of the Prebisch professorship at the Alcalá de Henares University in Madrid, Spain.
