CIAT, IMF, IOTA and OECD sign memorandum of understanding
On April 16, 2016, CIAT, IMF, IOTA and OECD have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the joint implementation of the International Survey on Revenue Administrations (ISORA), in the framework of the Spring Meetings of the IMF and the World Bank.
ISORA is a milestone for the proper monitoring of tax management in the world. It not only represents goal for more coordination between the agencies involved but it also opens the door for better technical assistance programs, as well as research and development capabilities. In addition, it will decrease the administrative burden of the countries supplying the information.
ISORA will continue using the RA-FIT (Revenue Tax Information Administration Tool) platform. As you may know, CIAT and IMF have been collecting tax management data from CIAT member countries in Latin America and the Caribbean using this platform.
The process of collecting data from the years 2014 and 2015 using ISORA is scheduled to begin formally on May 16, after the meeting of the Tax Administration Forum (May 11-13 in Beijing, China).
