CIAT participated in the 8th edition of EY’s Latin American Tax Summit
On November 8, 2024, the 8th edition of the “EY Lat Am Tax Summit” (Latin American Tax Summit) of EY for Europe was held in London. This activity was attended by industry leaders, tax professionals and other international references, who discussed the latest developments and trends in tax innovations, as well as tax policy and administration in Latin America. They also discussed the potential implications that the decisions taken by Latin American countries have for the parent companies of multinational companies located in Europe.
The CIAT Executive Secretariat was represented on this occasion by Gonzalo Arias (Director of International Cooperation and Taxation), in a panel moderated by Hector Hermosillo (Director of the EY Latin American Business Center, Madrid) and which addressed the experience of Latin American countries with respect to the implementation of recommendations of the BEPS Action Plan, regional perspectives in relation to Pillar 2 of BEPS Action 1, experiences in the application of artificial intelligence-based technologies to tax administration processes, experiences and challenges in the prevention and resolution of tax disputes, and recommendations to foster cooperative relationships between large taxpayers and tax administrations.
The CIAT Executive Secretariat thanks EY for making us part of this initiative and for the opportunity to share its vision with 70 professionals from 35 companies and country representatives.
