CIAT participates in “Revenue Mobilization in Sub-Saharan Africa” Seminar in Nairobi, Kenya
The “Revenue Mobilization in Sub-Saharan Africa” Seminar was held on March 21 and 22, at the Intercontinental Hotel in Nairobi, Kenya, organized by the Government of Kenya and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), with the support of the African Forum of Tax Administrations and International Compact of Germany.
The seminar was aimed at identifying best practices in tax policy and administration in the African countries and to consider new formulas for facing such issues as commercial liberalization and proliferation of tax incentives.
The CIAT Tax Studies and Research Manager, Mr. Miguel Pecho, was invited to report on the progress of the CIAT Working Group on Measurement of Tax Expenditures, as a successful Ibero-American experience for promoting fiscal transparency.
The seminar’s material is available in the IMF Web page.
