Conclusions of the IX LATINDADD-CIAT Tax Administrations Meeting
Challenges already known and new challenges arising from the international tax agenda in times of pandemic.
The global economic environment is calling for more efficient, transparent, and proactive economies; taxation being a key element in this context. The IX Meeting of Tax Administrators held from September to November 2020 by the Inter-American Centre of Tax Administrations (CIAT) and the Latin American Network for Economic and Social Justice (LATINDADD), with the support of the Coalition for Financial Transparency, was timely to address three major tax issues that are part of the international tax agenda: transparency and international tax cooperation, tax aspects of the digital economy and heterodox approaches to taxation. The theme of this ninth meeting, which grouped the aforementioned issues in 3 sessions, was “International Taxation and Coronavirus: The international tax agenda in the pandemic and reactivation“.
The conclusions of the IX Meeting are available at the following link, from which the challenges already known emerge, as well as others linked to the crisis caused by the pandemic.
