Costa Rica – Customs law reform will provide tools for trade facilitation, the fight against smuggling and tax evasion

This reform updates the General Customs Law in force since 1995, restructures the concept and sanction of smuggling and incorporates technological elements that will contribute to increase efficiency in the detection of irregular entry of goods, which will allow better results in the fight against tax evasion in customs matters.
