On May 25, 2016, the succession ceremony of the General Commander of the Guardia di Finanza took place between General Saverio Capolupo, who served for four years in this position, and General Giorgio Toschi.

The event was attended by the Minister of Economy and Finance, H.E. Professor Pier Carlo Padoan. Representatives of high political, civil, military and religious authorities, as well as active and retired officers, inspectors, superintendents and agents were also present.
