From June 18 to 23, 2018, in the city of San Salvador, El Salvador, CIAT coordinated a short-term technical assistance in the area of ​​Information Exchange and, more specifically, the Final Beneficiary. The purpose of this assistance was to train the staff of the Internal Revenue Department (DGII) on this topic, as well as to carry out a diagnosis on the current local legislation, with emphasis on the availability of information on final beneficiaries, in order to detect legal gaps that must be addressed in order to comply with the requirements of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

It is noteworthy that this assistance could be implemented thanks to the joint support of CIAT, the GIZ of Germany and SECO of Switzerland, within the framework of the CIAT-GIZ cooperation agreement and the CIAT-SECO program.
