Mr. Luis Valdez Veras, Director General of the General Directorate of Internal Taxes of the Dominican Republic, was elected President of the CIAT Executive Council in a virtual session on September 25, 2020.

Counselors from Ecuador, France, Guatemala, Jamaica, Mexico, Panama, Uruguay, and the Dominican Republic participated; and representatives from Canada, Spain, and Italy were invited to the session.

The DGII Director General was accompanied at the meeting by the Deputy Director of Management and Compliance, Francisco Torres; the Deputy Director of Audit, Freddy G. Torres; the Deputy Director of Legal Affairs, Yorlin Vásquez Castro; the Deputy Director of Facilitation and Services, Ricela S. Spraus; the Cabinet Coordinator, Eddy Arango; the Finance and Administrative Manager, Pedro M. Figueroa and the CIAT Correspondent in  charge of International Cooperation, Nieves Vargas.

The CIAT Executive Secretary, Mr. Marcio F. Verdi, highlighted the main areas of CIAT’s management and, accompanied by the Secretariat staff, reported on the main activities carried out from May to September, presenting information on achievements and products, as well as relevant projections of the respective Directorates.
