Meeting of Public Finance school directors was concluded
The meeting of Public Finance School directors was successfully held in Brasilia, Brazil, on October 6-8. It was jointly organized by the School of Finance Administration – ESAF and the Inter-American Center of Tax Administrations – CIAT, and brought together directors of government schools and centers and institutes for the training and development of professionals of the public finance administrations of the CIAT member countries.
The objective of the meeting was to promote dialogue between directors of government schools so that they could make known the best practices of their respective countries, in the recruitment, selection and development of public finance professionals; promote technical cooperation among government schools, centers and institutes for the training and development of public finance professionals and to lay the bases for the establishment of the specific permanent forum for promoting technical cooperation among institutions responsible for staff development for appropriate management of public finances.
To this end, 4 workshops were held and considered in detail the most important aspects that must be borne in mind when recruiting, selecting and providing initial training to Public Finance Administration professionals.
Another issue discussed was the selection and training of Finance Directors, in which case Spain, France, Uruguay and Brazil gave an account of their experience.
