The new Secretary of Federal Revenues of Brazil (RFB), Tax Auditor, Carlos Alberto Freitas Barreto was appointed on January 3.

He obtained his degree in Economics and Law and specialized in Tax Law and Modern Management at the Federal University of Bahia.  The new Secretary joined the RFB in 1978.

He has held the following positions: in 2010, he was President of the Fiscal Resources Administrative Council of the Ministry of Finance of Brazil; Deputy Secretary of the RFB from 2002 to 2009 and Head of the Offices of the Delegation of Federal Revenues of Brazil and of the Judgment Delegation in Salvador, Bahia.
