OECD/CIAT Seminar on Tax Information Exchange was Successfully Concluded
The OECD/CIAT “Seminar on Tax Information Exchange” was held on April 11-15, 2011 at the OECD’s Multilateral Tax Center in Mexico.
The instructors were Mrs. Martine Milliet (OECD), Mr. Gonzalo Arias (CIAT), Mrs. Joanne O´Neil (Canada Revenue Agency), Mrs. Aida Ceballos (AEAT of Spain), Mrs. Calafia Franco (SAT of Mexico) and Mr. Stefano Gesuelli (Guardia di Finanza of Italy). The participants represented the tax administrations of Barbados, Colombia, Chile, El Salvador, Ecuador, Guatemala, Kenya, Mexico, Morocco, Paraguay, Trinidad and Tobago and Uruguay.
The activity covered legal, procedural and operational aspects to be taken into account for the effective exchange of tax information between States, from the perspective of the OECD, CIAT and the experiences of the tax administrations represented in the panel of experts. Also comments were made on the experiences, results and recommendations regarding the peer reviews carried out within the sphere of the OECD’s “Global Forum on Transparency and Exchange of Information”.
