CIAT publications in 2013

blog-Un correo, algunos clicksOn Friday, January 10, a special edition of eCIAT News was sent to all our subscribers. They were invited to download a document referring to the CIAT publications in 2013.  It was special because, as stated by Márcio. F. Verdi, Executive Secretary: “The CIAT, doing its best for providing better and more qualified information service to its member countries, makes available our publications for the year 2013, in order to disseminate our editorial work for this period.”

One of our readers wrote in an email: “Congratulations for the dissemination of the work performed by CIAT in 2013, its content and its disclosure seems to me of significant importance”. We really hope that this summarized the perception of all those who downloaded it.

I must admit that the main purpose of this blog is to give an opportunity to anyone who, for some reason, has not downloaded the document for accessing these publications. To compensate those who already did it, and given that we love comparing, here are some interesting facts about this special bulletin, and certainly about our CIAT community.

From the email of a user, a single user, the document with access to publications and the summary of its contents was downloaded 47 times. That user runs a Center for studies on taxation.

26.7% of the users who downloaded the document have one of the three major free emails domains. i.e., this mean that one of every three people that downloaded the mail is not registered with a corporate mail from a tax administration, a company or a University. They are, as some friends would say: civil, nothing more, but certainly nothing less. Here is their distribution:

56% of the users who downloaded the document have domains from member countries tax administrations. The remaining 18% domains, responsible for 26% of downloads, come from international agencies, audit and tax consulting companies, attorneys’ firms,  tax research centers, universities, etc.

Among the Member countries tax administrations, the main “visitors”, who are certainly tax administrations officers, are distributed as follows:

From the total number of newsletters sent, about 15% have been opened. Or should we say: just about 15% were opened. We are relieved by the fact that as a result of receiving the bulletin, less than 0.3 per thousand requested to remove their subscription.

When we see that we did not to reach 15%, we feel as in Alejandro Lerner’s song: “How difficult this is to me…”  Undoubtedly, we would like that this number to reach 30 or more. We are convinced that within this group of publications, there are some very interesting ones. For this reason, once more, I invite you to have a look, download them, why not, read them.

Greetings and good luck
