June 27, 2008 – With the active and enthusiastic participation of outstanding officials from human resources and information technology involved in training issues, CIAT held the Workshop Seminar “The Keys to Successful Virtual Trainingâ€, from June 10 to 12, in Panama City.

Officials in representation of Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Spain, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, the Dominican Republic and Venezuela were able to attend several high-level presentations, which described the use of IT platforms and systems for virtual training in the Tax Administrations of their respective countries. Likewise, workshops were set up to assess achievements, successes, disadvantages and other aspects which may arise while planning and developing virtual training.

The activity provided an open forum to exchange information on the management, development, control and organization of the E-learning training systems used in the participating countries. Furthermore, participants shared experiences, methods and difficulties that may arise, as well as possible solutions to such issues.

By the end of the workshop seminar, participants were capable of identifying the key aspects in developing a virtual training project tailored to the specific needs of their Tax Administrations.
