Receita Federal do Brazil seeks to expand the taxpayer assistance channels with the support of the EUROsocial II Program
Within the framework of the voluntary compliance line of action developed by the EUROsociAL II Program, financed by the European Union, a technical assistance for the use of mobile devices for taxpayer assistance has been held in Brasilia, from May 25 to 28, 2015.
For this purpose, the experts César Luis Perales and José Vicente Vázquez of the Tax Administration Service of Mexico (SAT), and Marcos Romero of the National Tax Service of Bolivia (SIN), were received at the Central Offices of the Receita Federal of Brazil (RFB). The goal was to exchange experiences of policies in using mobile devices for interaction with the taxpayer in a way of promoting their implementation by the Receita Federal. Mrs. Walkyria Satyro Trindade, Chief of the Division of attention for third parties; Antonio Henrique Lindemberg, General Coordinator of Tax Education and Assistance, and Octavio Lira Maia Martins, Chief of the Assistance Projects Division participated for the Receita Federal.
The RFB is committed to e-administration and already makes use of mobile platforms, mainly in the areas of collection, customs and land registry; and is currently developing a taxpayer service application especially oriented to new mobile platforms.
In that sense, the Receita expressed interest in knowing the policy for use of mobile devices for interaction with the taxpayer used by other countries in the region, such as the administrations of Mexico and Bolivia, as a way of promoting their creation and implementation.
The methodology followed by Mexico and Bolivia was to inform Brazil of their experiences in terms of antecedents and methods for the delivery of mobile services to taxpayers, as well as the architecture and security in their implementation. This sharing of knowledge will allow the Receita Federal to promote the enlargement of the existing taxpayer assistance mechanisms, especially with regard to new mobile platforms.
