On Friday, May 30, 2025, a group of students from grades 10 to 12, accompanied by educators from Sage Hill School, visited the headquarters of the Inter-American Center of Tax Administrations (CIAT) as part of an educational day aimed at learning about the work of the organization and its contribution to strengthening tax administrations in the region.

The welcome was given by Mr. Raúl Zambrano, CIAT’s Director of Technical Assistance and Innovation, who highlighted the organization’s role as a facilitator of technical cooperation among the tax administrations of Latin America, the Caribbean and other regions, as well as its commitment to the promotion of effective and sustainable tax public policies.

During the visit, the students participated in the workshop “Climate Change and Taxation in the Americas“, given by André Dumoulin, CIAT Translation Coordinator. The workshop focused on the link between tax systems and climate change, addressing how tax policies can contribute to mitigate the effects of global warming and foster the transition to greener and more resilient economies.

This activity is part of an international educational program promoted by the Sage Hill School, which seeks to provide its students with a global vision of the major contemporary challenges, as well as the role of multilateral institutions in addressing them.
