South-South Encounter on Management of the taxpayer registry in tax administrations is sponsored by The EUROsocial II Program.
On August 26 to 30, 2013, a South-South Encounter on Management of the taxpayer registry in tax administrations was held at the AECID Center of Guatemala, in order to understand and analyze the management models of the taxpayers’ registry.
Tax administration officials from Brazil , Costa Rica , Ecuador , Guatemala , Peru , Uruguay , Spain and from the CIAT Executive Secretariat, shared knowledge and experiences , analyzed critically the options and best practices for improving the tax system management, to facilitate the integration between different databases of tax interest , and therefore the voluntary compliance , massive control compliance with tax obligations and tax information exchange at national level as well as other levels of government.
At the end of the meeting a report was agreed by all participants that include the main conclusions and recommendations, and this document can be accessed at the following link Conclusions and Recommendations.
The meeting has been organized as a result of requests presented to the EUROsocial II Program by the beneficiary countries within the framework of the Action “Compliance with Tax Obligations ” of ” Public Finance area ” , coordinated by the FIIAPP , which operating partners are the AEAT of Spain , the IEF of Spain and the CIAT. In the future, CIAT and EUROsocial II Program partners will follow-up the progresses and requests from the tax administrations beneficiaries of the program, in order to develop new activities to support voluntary compliance.
