In the City of Panama, from October 24th to 28th took place the Tax Law Seminar, under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the General Directorate of Revenues and the Inter American Center of Tax Administrations. The event was opened by Mr. Jorge R. Cosulich, B. Eng., representing the CIAT, and Mr. Noel Caballero, Attorney, in representation of the MEF.

The seminar purpose was to bring specific knowledge on substantive and administrative tax law and on the main characteristics of the income tax and the VAT, in order to understand their most important elements and reach a better mastery of tools used to perform tax duties in a lawful and efficient way.

The event´s speakers were tax renowned professionals: Dr. Bernardo Lara (Chile), Dr. Bibiana Garcia (Colombia), and Econ. Ceferino Costa (Uruguay), who talked about Tax and Criminal Law, in addition to the Income and Corporate Tax Model, and the VAT tax Model.
