On August 8 to 10, 2016, in the city of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, CIAT coordinated a short-term technical assistance in terms of VAT collection. This is with the aim of presenting the system of VAT collection in force in Peru and assess the feasibility of implementing a similar system in the Dominican Republic.

In parallel, from 8th to 10th of August, another technical assistance from SUNAT was held on Control of the Mining Sector, also coordinated by CIAT, in order to meet the Peruvian experience regarding the specific audit processes in this sector.

It is noteworthy that both assistances could be carried out with the support of GIZ of Germany, under the CIAT-GIZ cooperation agreement.
