The Federal Revenue starts creating the Brazilian model of the Authorized Economic Operator -AEO

The proposal for the specific Brazilian model program of the Authorized Economic Operator –AEO, was signed on October 10 by the Sub-secretary of Customs and International Relations.

The program aims to develop, refine and implement the AEO system in accordance with the guidelines of the World Customs Organization – WCO and security needs of Brazilian customs control.

The AEO aims to bring benefits such as faster processing of goods at points of entry and exit from the country, improving the selection of quality merchandise for inspection based on subjective and objective criteria. This will result in a saving of time and costs for both the public and private sectors, while taking into account the safety of the operation. It is estimated that the program will provide increased security of the logistics chain and adaptation to internationally recognized standards. Another outcome is the best insertion of Brazilian exports in international trade by improving the safety of operations’ image.

The AEO Brazilian program will be developed through specific bilateral projects, based on the mutual recognition of programs of countries involved in the project. The pioneering project will be called ACP – International Air Cargo Pilot, conducted between RFB / Customs Airport Viracopos / SP and the U.S. Customs United States Customs and Border Protection (U.S. CBP).
