Santiago Menéndez Menéndez, accompanied by Ignacio del Río, Head of the International Relations Coordination Unit of the State Agency of Tax Administration – AEAT, visited Panama City on November 9 and 10.

At the CIAT Executive Secretariat they were welcomed by Socorro Velazquez and Francisco Beiner. Other participants in the meeting were Juan Francisco Redondo, Head of the Permanent Mission of Spain at CIAT, who was in charge of coordinating the other working meetings with the DGI of Panama and the Embassy of Spain and Joerg Wisner, Head of the Permanent Mission of the GIZ – German Cooperation at CIAT.

The General Director highlighted the close cooperation relationships between the Agency and CIAT, while also identifying specific aspects of international taxation, specialization of the examination function and strengthening of the tax and customs administrations in which Spain could focus its technical cooperation for the benefit of the developing countries members of CIAT.
