On March 8, the Executive Secretariat was honored with the visit of Mrs. Sabina Walcott-Denny,  Internal Revenue Commissioner of Barbados and Chairman of COTA (Caribbean Organisation of Tax Administrators), who was accompanied by two high level officials from the Government of Barbados.

The CIAT Executive Secretary, Mr. Márcio F. Verdi and members of his team updated the Commissioner on CIAT’s activities and also discussed issues dealing with the continuation of CIAT’s collaboration with Barbados, in relation to the Technical Assistance project underway since 2007.

On this occasion, Mrs. Walcott-Denny also invited CIAT to present a paper on “e-filing” (filing of returns through Internet), at the COTA General Assembly to be held in Barbados next July, to which the Executive Secretary gave his assent.
