The SRI of Ecuador receives technical assistance from The Internal Revenue Service of Chile (SII) Under the CIAT-ITC Cooperation Program
In the frame of the Collaboration Program agreed between CIAT and the International Tax Compact (ITC) initiative, from April 6 to 8, the Internal Revenue Service (SRI) of Ecuador received the technical visit of the Chilean tax official, Mr. Omar Estrada Gomez, Head of Economic Sectors and Groups of the Selective Tax Compliance Analysis Department, from the Internal Revenue Service. The objective of the meeting was to share the Chilean experience and best practices with Ecuador on issues related to income tax on capital gains and compare both tax systems.
The assistance concluded with a recommendation on the need for a second assistance in order to cover issues related to international taxation of capital gains and provide support for the design of the secondary legislation to be issued on this topic.
