3rd Visit of the 9th graduating class of the Master’s Degree in Taxation, Foreign Trade and Customs of the Universidad Externado de Colombia and CIAT

From July 1 to 3, 2025, the closing seminar of the IX class of the virtual Master’s in International Taxation, Foreign Trade and Customs, a program developed jointly by the Inter-American Center of Tax Administrations (CIAT) and the Universidad Externado de Colombia, was held in Panama City, Panama.
Officials from the tax administrations and the private sector of Colombia, Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic participated in this program.
The welcoming remarks were made by Olga Lucía González Parra, Director of the Tax Law Department of the Universidad Externado de Colombia; Antonio Osorio, Secretary General of the Administrative Tax Court of Panama; and Márcio F. Verdi, CIAT Executive Secretary.
During the seminar, presentations on current tax issues were given by CIAT representatives: Raúl Zambrano, Director of Technical Assistance and Innovation; Alejandro Juárez, Director of Human Talent Development in the TAs; Santiago Díaz de Sarralde, Director of Tax Studies and Research; Fransheska López, Project Manager; and Tiffany Reyes, International Taxation Specialist.
Also participating were Antonio Osorio, Secretary General of the Administrative Tax Tribunal of Panama, as well as external international tax consultants José Luis Galíndez and Gerardo Herrera.
The meeting also included some thesis presentations and the presentation of research advances.
