On September 19, 2024, the Inter-American Center of Tax Administrations (CIAT) and the Internal Revenue Service of Chile (SII) formalized the agreement that establishes the cooperation commitments for holding the 59th CIAT General Assembly, which will take place in May 2025 in Chile. The agreement, signed by the CIAT Executive Secretary, Mr. Márcio F. Verdi, and the Director of the SII,  Mr. Javier Etcheverry, regulates the logistical and operational aspects of the event, guaranteeing the infrastructure and resources necessary for its success.

The General Assembly includes an international technical meeting of member countries, associate member countries, other invited countries and international organizations, the purpose of which is to exchange experiences, discuss and analyze issues related to the problems and trends affecting the tax administration.
